Agricultural and Resource Economics Library
Our professionally managed departmental library contains one of the best Agricultural and Resource Economics collections in the world, with books, journals and data sources immediately available. The ARE Library, located in the ARE Department (Fourth Floor, Social Science & Humanities Building), is also a branch of the main campus library and the Giannini Foundation library. It contains over 7,800 books, 1,000 current periodicals, and approximately 150,000 pamphlets and government documents. A microcomputer catalog cites pamphlets and books added to the ARE Library since 1988, ARE doctoral dissertations, and Giannini Foundation publications since 1970.
Computer Services
The Agricultural and Resource Economics Computer Services unit consists of a Facility Manager, 3 Programmers, and 1 Computer Resource Specialist to aid faculty and students with research projects. The ARE Computer Services unit provides computing services for mainframe computing to microcomputing operating systems and software, as well as networking, electronic mail, and data entry.
